A Wolverhampton restaurant is looking for a deserving dad to treat to a celebratory meal on Father’s Day.
Canalside Bar and Grill in Castlecroft Lane, Wightwick, has launched a giveaway to welcome a winner to dine for free on his special day.
Owner Rav Chopra said he was looking forward to welcoming a hero to the eatery’s Father Day lunch. And he said all dads were in line for a free beer if they book a meal at the up and coming eatery.
“Let’s face it, the dads who are there for their children, who listen and care, are all heroes,” said Rav.
“We’ve launched our giveaway via our social media and can’t wait to see the nominations.”
Rav is also continuing his support for Midlands charity Smile for Joel, by pledging a donation for every meal ordered on Father’s Day.
“This is a continued commitment to Smile for Joel,” Rav added. “It is such an important charity helping families affected by murder, so that really hits home on Father’s Day.”
Rav said that a commitment to a charity was crucial in ‘giving back’ to his local community.
And he said Canalside’s Father’s Day giveaways were part of ongoing steps to revitalise the restaurant as it recovers from being hit hard by Covid-19 restrictions and lockdown.
“We opened just before lockdown hit so it hasn’t been easy. It’s fun to come up with new ways of bringing people into our restaurant. Luckily once they have visited once, they stick with us as our food speaks for itself.”
Smile for Joel trustee Steve Saul said he was hugely grateful to Rav and the Canalside team with a recent comedy night there in aid of the charity further boosted funds. To enter the ‘Hero dad eats free’ giveaway visit Canalside Bar and Grill on Facebook.
