Bee Inspired as Child to Parent Abuse campaigner takes to the stage

One of the UK’s leading Child to Parent Abuse campaigners is set to take to the stage at this year’s Bee Inspired.

The event, hosted by Dani Wallace – presenter, author and business mentor, takes place across two days (31st March and 1st April) with the audience attending virtually and in-person in Manchester.

The schedule is packed full of life education, business motivation and spiritual inspiration tips, with speeches on everything from identity and relationships to branding and leadership to connecting to your inner magic.

Among this year’s line-up is Michelle John, Founding Director of PEGS – a social enterprise which supports parents, carers and guardians impacted by Child to Parent Abuse, as well as training frontline professionals, consulting on policy and practice, and raising awareness of this often-hidden form of abuse.

Michelle’s talk (taking place on Thursday 31st March) will focus on the blame, shame and guilt which surrounds CPA and what the audience can do individually and collectively to help support parents rather than blame them for the abuse they are experiencing.

Since PEGS became operational less than two years ago, Michelle has been called on by the Home Office to consult on policies, spoken at a Westminster Domestic Abuse Forum, hosted an online event attended by professionals from across the UK, supported more than 2,000 parents, launched a DWP-backed Employer Covenant, and given talks to social workers, safeguarding leads, health professionals, colleges, and many others.

She says: “I’m delighted to be speaking at Bee Inspired this year, having been a huge fan of the event in previous years. Raising awareness about Child to Parent Abuse means fewer families have to live in silence, in fear of the repercussions of speaking out and the potential for them to be blamed for their child’s actions.

“We know CPA impacts at least 3% of UK households – but we also know it’s under-reported and not talked about nearly enough as it should be. I’m utterly passionate about changing that and improving people’s experiences of seeking support, and I’m delighted to be able to share that message with the audience. A huge thank you to Dani and her team for their ongoing support.”

Attendees can book a ticket to be in the room on either or both days, or an online ticket for both days. £25 of the cost of any ticket booked using the following link will be donated back to PEGS by the Bee Inspired organisers:
