Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) provider TechnologyOne has appointed Leo Hanna as its new UK Executive Vice President to spearhead the company’s continued growth in the higher education and local government sectors.
Hanna brings more than 20 years’ experience building and leading sales, marketing and professional services organisations in some of the world’s top technology and SaaS firms, including Oracle, Symantec and Microsoft Corporation.
Most recently, Hanna was Executive Vice President International for Corporate Visions, where he oversaw customers and operations in both EMEA and APAC. Prior to this, he led Saba Corporation’s EMEA operations as Senior Vice President & General Manager for the region. Under his leadership, the company made the successful transition from a software licensing company to a cloud services provider.
Speaking about Leo Hanna’s appointment, TechnologyOne Chief Executive Officer Edward Chung, said: “TechnologyOne is experiencing exciting growth in the UK, and Leo’s ability to build a world class sales team is his core strength. TechnologyOne is seeing strong progress in the local government sector and our recent acquisition of Scientia will act as a springboard, accelerating growth in the higher education sector.”
The appointment follows TechnologyOne’s recent acquisition of leading higher education software provider Scientia, reinforcing its position in the UK Higher Education market with 50% of the UK Universities supported by the company’s solutions.
TechnologyOne has also recently appointed of Dr Katie Bell, Chief Marketing Officer of the UK’s Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and Professor John Latham CBE, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of the Coventry University Group, as senior non executive advisors.
TechnologyOne estimates that the UK represents a large addressable market, three times the size of its Asia-Pacific core business.

Leo Hanna started his career at Microsoft, spending 14 years working as part of its enterprise sales team. He then moved to Symantec as UK Senior Director for Symantec Cloud, before Oracle where he was Vice President EMEA for ATG Cloud Services.
