Click fraud protection specialists, Beacon, have been crowned the winners of a top industry prize at this year’s Prolific North Tech Awards.
The firm, which has offices on Dock Street in Leeds, scooped the ‘Best Martech Innovation Award’ for its optimisation and analytics platform, which is designed to provide marketers with better quality and more accurate data from their online advertising campaigns.
Unlike competing platforms, Beacon is able to tell users with precision how much of their marketing budget is being wasted by bot clicks – malicious software programmed to steal clicks on pay-per-click [PPC] ads – and then takes steps to block these programs from interfering with and distorting campaign data.
This gives organisations confidence that the data they are receiving is coming from genuine, human users rather than bots, thereby allowing businesses to optimise their budgets and transform digital Return on Investment [RoI].
A spokesperson for the judging panel at the Prolific North Tech Awards said: “Beacon is a fantastic product with really impressive results and savings for customers.

Beacon’s CTO and data lead, Stewart Boutcher, was on hand to collect the prize on the company’s behalf at a special ceremony that took place at Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum on Thursday 21st October.
