Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its market-leading Real Estate Finance practice with the appointment of Partner John O’Donovan.
John joined the firm on 11 August 2025 from Harold Benjamin, where he was a partner and head of its banking and finance practice.
He brings to the firm a considerable track record in acting for domestic and international banks, institutional and alternative lenders, investors, developers and portfolio landlords.
His experience extends across the full range of financing options, from senior debt to mezzanine finance and development finance through to funding agreements, often with cross-jurisdiction matters.
On joining the firm, John said: “Winckworth Sherwood has a truly outstanding Real Estate and Corporate team with a first-class and growing Banking and Finance practice offering its clients an excellent holistic offer.”
“Its entrepreneurial approach means it is well placed to help clients meet their commercial objectives, and I am looking forward to contributing to both the growth of the firm and its clients.”
Richard Tinham, Managing Partner at Winckworth Sherwood, said: “We are delighted by John’s decision to join the firm. His experience in banking and finance transactions is first class, and we look forward to the contributions he will bring and working with him to further develop our banking offering for clients.”
