French connection is a significant European milestone for Smart CT

A MAJOR contract win in France for Reading Technology lifecycle services expert Smart CT is a significant expansion of its European operation said CEO Andy Morgan.

The contract with an IT provider for the outsourcing of its internal Networking maintenance support in over 500 locations across France will utilise Smart CT’s European storage, logistics and repair facilities. It means the company’s European business has grown from 5 to 30 per cent in three years with it now looking after more than 200,000 devices across the English Channel.

The company now provides services in 57 countries, with the top three in the UK, Germany and France.

Smart CT deploys, maintains, replaces and repairs business-critical IT infrastructure, such as networking, servers and other workplace technologies, on behalf of IT suppliers who support an extensive range of organisations – from household brands to industrial businesses.

It has more than 25,000 parts stored at now more than 50 locations across the UK, Europe and the US, which enables it to guarantee the replacement parts, and in some cases an engineer, in as little as two hours to keep business critical technology connected.

Its sustainable approach means that many faulty devices that might otherwise end up in landfill are either repaired and re-purposed or are re-used for parts.

Mr Morgan said his company’s success in supporting similar clients in France and Germany helped clinch the agreement, which he believes will pave the way for more business in Europe.

“This contract win is a launchpad for future successes and employment,” he said. “This contract gives us a real foothold in Europe and showcases our ability to support multiple countries. It was our proven track record, highlighted by our exemplary service delivery in France and Germany, that played a crucial role in securing this contract.

“This strategic partnership allows our client to optimise their operations, reduce costs and focus on their core business activities – and for us it sets a powerful tone for 2025.”

Mr Morgan praised the efforts of Smart CT staff who helped secure the deal. “The fact we have won such a significant contract is the result of incredible teamwork and dedication,” he said. “Our team has shown exceptional management of the customer relationship to ensure our proposals met the client’s key requirements.

“We demonstrated outstanding solution design and pricing strategy, and had great support from our teams involved in stock planning and the service desk. It showcases our ability to deliver high value, tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of enterprise clients across multiple industries including transport, retail, banking and more.”
